Learning the difference between earthworms and invasive hammerhead worms was a tricky one, for instance, and due to how the hammerheads behave, I keep an old water bottle full of vinegared salt water with me outside at all times to make sure those little heckers are dead-dead the second I see them. We’re near a forest, so lots of critters visit looking for an easy meal - having a good latch, and sometimes even a lock for the smarter woodland friends like raccoons is a must. The issues I’ve had with composting are mostly the outside factors, especially pests. Has anyone done any composting before and if so how’d it go?Ĭomposting is pretty easy - add roughly equal amounts of dry brown stuff like leaves or paper and squishy green stuff like vegetable scraps and non-seeded and non-propagating weeds, and something good and dirty will come out the other side.
